A trip to Versailles is always worth it, but do be prepared for long lines, security checks and lots of other tourists.

The restored Hall of Mirrors in all its new glory was revealed to the public on 27 June 2007. The 357 mirrors and incredible ceiling paintings.

Spend a day seeing the palace, the grounds, fountains and in the afternoon don't miss the Grand Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's Estate.

The historic part of Versailles town is also well worth a couple of hours of wandering around and there's a wide choice of restaurants for lunch or dinner.
